Medieval Painted Flags – A Study
: This is an excellent and scholarly article on the medieval painted flag written in 2007. The author includes a complete bibliography. The article gives an overview of the painted flag in relation to other types of decoration used for medieval flags, who commissioned them, from whom they were commissioned and what part the flags played in medieval life. Sources are listed for information from which conclusions are drawn. There is also a discussion of period painting technique used on flags with quotes from extant writers. Finally, the author outlines her own reconstruction of a painted flag utilizing as many historically authentic methods as possible with as much modern convenience as can be managed. Her methods are illustrated with excellent step-by-step photographs as she works to produce a silk painted flag. She describes how the medieval painter would accomplish a process and then outlines her own process and explains her reasoning when she makes choices of media or method. The article is actually included on the Aston Hall website. Aston Hall is a household located in the eastern shire of Darach in the Kingdom of Caid and is known for its collection of beautiful silk flags.

Medieval & Renaissance Dances
: This is a collection of cheat-sheets designed to accompany the dance music collection published by Lady Phaedria d'Aurillac. It also includes descriptions of the dance steps, a and a short list of references. This collection is currently incomplete, but the intent is to give a concise description of all the dances, along with the source of the dance. Many dances traditionally danced in the SCA which aren't actually from before 1600 are also given, along with the damning evidence of their origin -- this collection will hopefully be complete, with the good, the bad, and the ugly. I hope that this collection will be sufficient to allow you to teach a dance once you've seen it danced once and have looked at the cheat sheet. Enjoy.

: The aim of the Internet Shakespeare Editions is to inspire a love of Shakespeare's works in a world-wide audience. To do so, we create and publish works for the student, scholar, actor, and general reader in a form native to the medium of the Internet: scholarly, fully annotated texts of Shakespeare's plays, multimedia explorations of the context of Shakespeare's life and works, and records of his plays in performance. This site is supported by the University of Victoria and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

Louise de la Mere - SCA costumer
: Garb or clothing of the period of the SCA, pre-16th century, is my main interest. Many members of the SCA focus in on one time period and or region to study and recreate. I do not. My focus is on clothes from many different time periods and countries. This page has pictures of garments that I have made and will, whenever possible, have links to primary source images of these garments on the web. These primary source's may come in the form of paintings from that time, or actual existing garments.

: The last several years have seen a robust and active community of arms and armour enthusiasts emerge. Many of these enthusiasts share a passionate hobby as collectors. The enjoyment of our hobby isn't fully realized unless we have the ability to share it with others of like mind. To this end, we intend to build an extensive base of reviews and photographic galleries covering the range of economy production pieces to the works of modern-day masters.

Gifts from Atlantis
: Gifts From Atlantis started as a very small hobby business specializing in chainmaille that we made by hand. We had bracelets, necklaces, key fobs, and other small items we would sell at medieval-type events. Soon we discovered that we needed to start carrying other items. We believed whatever we were going to sell had to be a quality item at a fair price. Since then our business has been growing every year, and we have our customers to thank for that. We now find ourselves traveling far and wide a couple times a year to various gift/trade shows looking for the next new item to share with everyone. We currently travel throughout the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Some of the events we do are 300 - 500 miles apart from weekend to weekend.
